A Snowy Tale.

The little snow globes which have been produced and sold in their millions over the last 50 years are well-known and loved everywhere.

However, hardly anybody knows the story of how the snow globes began.

It was in the early 1950s when Bernhard Koziol, the inventor of the snow globe was driving through the snow covered Odenwald in his split window beetle on a cold winter’s night when he ended up getting stuck in a high snow drift.

The snow was falling, everything was quite & as he looked around gazing through the back window of his beetle he was presented with a fascinating sight.

Snow flakes danced in the air, three deer came out of the forest playing as the snow was falling softly on top of them. This sight inspired Bernhard Koziol to then create the first snow globe in the world which were of deer in a winter scene.

So when you next shake a snow globe & the snow flakes slowly fall to the bottom you can think back to Bernhard Koziol’s exciting trip in the beetle more than 50 years ago.

Merry Christmas & a Happy New Year from Team Wackeldackel.
